The Consumer Goods Forum (CGF) is taking action to eliminate plastic waste from the land and ocean.
In 2018, the CGF Board acknowledged that industry has an important role in helping reduce plastic and endorsed the vision of the Ellen MacArthur Foundation’s New Plastics Economy. This effort envisions a circular economy that will reinvent the plastics industry. As a member of the Trash Free Seas Alliance®, The Consumer Goods Forum works with Ocean Conservancy and leaders in industry and conservation to identify and address plastic waste that leaks into our waterways. “We recognize the pressing need for our industry to play a leading role in tackling the issue of plastic waste. To complement the efforts of individual member companies, the CGF has chosen to work with Ocean Conservancy as they share our long-term aim to eliminate plastic waste on land and sea.” – Ignacio Gavilan, Director, Environmental Sustainability
