The Recycling Partnership recognizes the impact that recycling has in decreasing the amount of debris, especially plastic, that enters the ocean.
Ocean Conservancy works with The Recycling Partnership to explore strategies that increase recycling access for Americans living on coasts and waterways along with education to help them recycle more and recycle better. The Recycling Partnership is a member of the Trash Free Seas Alliance®, which recognizes the value of engaging different stakeholders in protecting the ocean. “In many ways, after decades of effort, the U.S. recycling system is barely more than the sum of its thousands of parts, delivering a frustratingly low 30ish% recycling rate. When it comes to our ocean and the health of our planet, that will not work. Competition will not deliver systematic change. Collaboration between science, business, policy and public interests will. Will it be easy? No. Will it be scary? Sometimes. Will it take bold efforts and quick lessons learned? Yes. And that is why I’m eager to continue bringing The Partnership’s lessons-learned, expertise and ethic of hard work to the cause.” – Keefe Harrison, CEO, The Recycling Partnership
