A recent analysis released by the U.S. Energy Information Administration found that the United States has produced more crude oil than any country ever, and we’re not slowing down. Our country continues to be the world’s number-one producer of oil today. All of this oil production has polluted our ocean and fueled the climate crisis which puts life on our planet in increasing danger.
The United States is home to many polluting oil companies. It’s time to hold them responsible for the damage they’ve caused our planet.
After decades of pollution, oil companies once again are trying to shirk any responsibility. A recent bill introduced in Congress would let oil companies cut costs and would leave taxpayers liable for the risks posed by old offshore oil infrastructure. Once again, oil companies are trying to pile their large, expensive and toxic garbage onto us, the public.
Time and time again, oil companies have profited from environmental devastation and left us with the bill. It’s time to make Big Oil clean up their mess.
