Digital Fundraising and Outreach Coordinator


Ocean Conservancy is seeking a creative and talented Digital Fundraising and Outreach Coordinator to join the digital team in this newly created position, and work closely with membership, development, communication and program teams as well as external vendors, in order to develop, implement and coordinate online fundraising and advocacy campaigns that will mobilize and engage supporters and members to take action and donate.

The Digital Fundraising and Outreach Coordinator supports Ocean Conservancy’s fundraising and outreach efforts by optimizing Ocean Conservancy’s donation funnel, and by supervising main acquisition and retention key performance indicators.



  • MULTI-CHANNEL CAMPAIGNING: Develops and executes multi-channel campaigns supporting the programmatic work of Ocean Conservancy as well as national and state legislative agendas. Key channels include website, email-marketing, paid search advertising, search engine optimization, paid social and mobile.
  • EMAIL MARKETING: Assists in the design and execution of successful email fundraising campaigns aiming at increasing Ocean Conservancy’s base of donors; creates reports to communicate results.
  • PAY-PER-CLICK ADVERTISING: Assists in the optimization of our paid channel acquisition (social, search and display) to ensure we capture new members and supporters at an optimal CPA.
  • REPORTING & TESTING: Develops and implements testing strategies, including A/B testing tools and beyond, to increase conversion rate, generate revenue and enhance user experience. Assists in measuring analytics to define trends, bring necessary adjustments and provide transparency across all online channels and through the organization.
  • TECHNICAL SUPPORT: Provides first level support for all technical problems relating to fundraising issues. Liaison with vendors on technical issues. Track and implement solutions to technical problems. Interacts, communicates and cares for Ocean Conservancy’s digital community by responding to email inquiries. Maintains the database of online supporters and donors. This includes reconciling duplicates, updating records and following best practices.
  • DIGITAL TEAM SUPPORT: Contributes to team brainstorms and discussions. Contributes to editorial strategy. Other duties as assigned by supervisor.



  • MUST HAVE at least 2-3 years of online Marketing experience> experience with email marketing and/or Pay-per-click Advertising platforms (Facebook ads, Adwords, Bing, etc.)
  • Proficiency with Mac platforms, Microsoft Office, WordPress, HTML, Adobe Creative Suite, and Google Analytics
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, familiarity with AP style and solid attention to detail
  • Current understanding of online communication, accessibility standards and digital marketing trends.
  • Strong customer service skills and ability to troubleshoot community concerns.
  • Curious and pro-active



  • Bachelor’s degree: in communication and marketing preferred
