Bob O'Connor
Bob O’Connor is a corporate partner with the Silicon Valley law firm, Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati where he co-founded the firm’s energy and climate solutions practice. He has co-led the nationally recognized practice for more than 20 years. A pioneer and thought leader in this area, Bob has represented a number of the most impactful companies in the climate tech sector and has advised many of the most recognized investors that are financing the energy transition and sustainable reindustrialization of the global economy. Bob also serves as a strategic advisor to leading catalytic organizations in the energy and climate sector, including through pro bono and advisory engagements with leading universities, national laboratories, and incubators and accelerators advancing climate solutions. Bob brings a wealth of experience, insights and passion to Ocean Conservancy across each of its three strategic pillars, as evidenced through his representation of entrepreneurs and investors seeking to develop and finance ocean solutions, commercialize circularity and promote biodiversity. Before founding Wilson Sonsini’s energy and climate solutions practice, Bob served as managing partner of the firm’s Salt Lake City, Utah, office where his pro bono work included supporting leading efforts to restore the Great Salt Lake. Bob grew up in Southern California, receiving his undergraduate degrees from UCLA and his law degree from Loyola Law School of Los Angeles. Bob and his wife Jodie currently reside in Marin County, California, and, outside of their professional commitments, spend as much time with friends and family traveling and enjoying the outdoors.
