Kathleen Justice-Moore serves as trustee of the Gordon and Betty Moore Foundation, the Moore Family Foundation, and the Board of Trust for Vanderbilt University in Nashville, Tennessee. She worked for a decade as a litigator in San Francisco, specializing in labor and employment law before becoming Associate General Counsel at the Gordon and Betty Moore Foundation from 2001-2003. Justice-Moore previously served on the board of the Lucile Packard Foundation for Children’s Health from 2006-2008, and on the Board of Advisors to Vanderbilt Law School from 2010-2013.

Personal Connection to the Ocean

• Kathleen grew up and attended college in Arizona, only four hours from the Sea of Cortez where her family spent weekends and vacations.  She spent years playing in and near the ocean, fishing and crabbing, snorkeling and tide-pooling in the area around Puerto Penasco, Mex.   She and her husband became scuba-certified on their honeymoon, and have a passion for diving in bio-diverse reefs.  They now take their children to the Northern California coast for tide-pooling, and to Hawaii for snorkeling, several times a year.
