For the Love of The Ocean

Olivia Lopez

RAY Conservation Diversity Fellow

Olivia Lopez is a RAY Conservation Diversity Fellow focusing on ocean-based climate policy and the advancement of ocean-climate justice. She was born and raised in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, where she spent summers exploring the shore of Lake Michigan.

She studied Conservation Biology and Afro-American Studies at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, and ultimately hopes to use her background in environmental justice to work with and advocate for underserved coastal populations vulnerable to the effects of climate change.

In her spare time, Olivia loves watching Planet Earth (and Blue Planet of course), singing in the car with her sister and promoting a low-waste lifestyle.
