Very proud to call himself an immigrant, Paul Shang (he/him) was born in Hong Kong and emigrated with his parents to New York City when he was three years old. For 23 years, Paul, with dual citizenship in the United States and the United Kingdom, served as an investment banker at Lehman Brothers, working in New York City, Tokyo, Hong Kong and London. He co-founded PRC Venture Partners. For the past 15 years Paul has worked for Standard Bank of South Africa, the largest bank on that continent where he is currently a Vice Chairman of the bank after serving as Global Head of Banking. Paul is a member of the Silk Road Project Founders Board and serves on the boards on the Stanbic Foundation Kenya and Silver Point Capital. He is an advisor to Powwater and Lumen Energy. Paul has a bachelor’s degree from Cornell University, College of Arts & Science, and holds an MBA from Columbia University Graduate School of Business.
