Sean Simplicio
Sean Simplicio is the Chief Financial and Administrative Officer at Ocean Conservancy, where he is responsible for leading the organization’s Finance, People and Culture, Information Technology, Legal, Compliance and Facilities functions.
Prior to joining Ocean Conservancy, Sean was the lead financial and operational executive at a host of nonprofit educational organizations focused on policy, advocacy, and direct service to communities. Most recently he was Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of Mary Baldwin University in Virginia’s Shenandoah valley. Earlier in his career Sean spent many years working in public broadcasting at the local and national level and remains a fan of everything but the pledge drives.
Sean grew up in the San Francisco Bay Area, and has a B.A. in History from UC Santa Cruz, an M.A. in Public Communications from Fordham University, and an M.B.A. from UC Berkeley. He currently lives in Washington, DC with his wife Kristen, and their two rescue dogs.
