Kick Off Shark Week with a Shoreline Cleanup Near You!

To kick off Shark Week and help protect sharks’ ocean habitat, Ocean Conservancy has partnered with Discovery Channel to host shoreline cleanups on Saturday, July 27 in three major U.S. cities. Scientists estimate that more than 8 million metric tons of plastic enters our ocean every year, threatening sharks and other ocean animals. Since 1986, Ocean Conservancy’s International Coastal Cleanup has brought together millions of people to collect more than 300 million pounds of trash along our coastlines and waterways.
