Sara Wanous is a Legislative Specialist supporting the Government Relations team’s work to advance policies that protect our ocean and the wildlife and communities that depend on it. She is passionate about building connections between the scientists and communities identifying powerful solutions to ocean and climate related threats and the legislators that can put those solutions into action. Before joining Ocean Conservancy, Sara was a Research Assistant at Citizens’ Climate Lobby, and before that she worked on a trail crew at Crater Lake National Park. She has a B.A in Economics and B.S. in Environmental Science and Policy from Chapman University and a Masters in Climate Science and Policy from the Scripps Institution of Oceanography at UCSD.
