International Coastal Cleanup

Through the International Coastal Cleanup, more than 100 million volunteers have collected more than 300 million pounds of trash from beaches and waterways worldwide since 1986.

Held in more than 100 countries around the world every September, the International Coastal Cleanup (ICC) is the world’s largest effort to rid the ocean and waterways of plastics and marine debris.

Throughout the year, we also partner with nonprofit and corporate partners to host regular cleanup events for employees. Cleanups engage employees in a community effort to protect the environment and keep much-loved marine places clean, while also uniting volunteers together in a hands-on, educational and fun experience.

Using the Ocean Conservancy Clean Swell® app, partners record data on the trash they find. The app tracks the collective cleanup impact of each partner, and contributes to the largest dataset on ocean trash in the world (published annually and cited by government, media, industry and others around the globe).

Your team’s support is needed to help collect trash before it reaches the ocean, especially plastics that pose such a threat to humans, ocean wildlife and marine ecosystems.

Partner with Ocean Conservancy and join the global movement to keep our beaches clean, build ocean champions, and raise awareness.
