Through the International Coastal Cleanup, millions of volunteers have collected over 300 million pounds of trash from beaches and waterways worldwide since 1986.
Held in over 100 countries around the world every September, the International Coastal Cleanup (ICC) — an integral part of Ocean Conservancy’s Trash Free Seas® Program — is the world’s largest effort to rid the ocean of plastics and marine debris.
Volunteers around the world are the key to making the ICC an annual success.
By partnering with Ocean Conservancy, your company can join a global movement that keeps our beaches clean and raises awareness about the issue of ocean plastic pollution.
Throughout the year, we also support nonprofit and corporate partners who host regular cleanup events, using the Ocean Conservancy Clean Swell® app to record data on what trash they find. The app tracks the collective cleanup impact of your employee base and produces data for an annual report relied upon by government, industry and conservation organizations around the globe.
For our partners, the ICC engages employees in a community effort to protect the environment and keep much-loved marine places clean.
Many volunteers say the ICC is one of their favorite events of the year — an opportunity to unite with friends, family members and volunteers around the globe in a shared appreciation for the ocean.
Your team’s support is needed to help collect trash before it reaches the ocean, especially the plastic that poses such a threat to humans, ocean wildlife and marine ecosystems.
