Jamie joined Ocean Conservancy in 2024 as its Vice President of Strategic Communications. She oversees communications across all channels to build the organization’s public profile and help win policies that protect the ocean.

Jamie is a communications leader by trade and a climate advocate at heart. After spending several years as a journalist covering the United Nations, she devoted her career to using strategic communications to protect our ocean and forests, combat the climate crisis, end plastic pollution, and advance the rights of Indigenous peoples.

Previous roles include leading communications at Greenpeace USA, building the communications program for the U.S. Insure Our Future Campaign, and running communications for the UN Special Rapporteur on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples.

Through this work, Jamie built extensive expertise in using communications to deliver on conservation and climate goals. She is delighted to bring these skills to a role where she can work full time on protecting our ocean, which is vital to all life on Earth.

Favorite Ocean Animal

“If I were a sea creature, it would be an orca! I would love to be able to swim 100+ miles per day exploring our ocean. Orcas are beautiful, powerful, and found all around the world—in fact, they’re the most widely distributed marine mammals on Earth.”
