Statement: Election Day 2022

English Español Français Deutsch Italiano Português русский বঙ্গীয় 中文 日本語

WASHINGTON, D.C. – The following statement was issued by Jeff Watters, Ocean Conservancy’s Vice President of External Affairs, as Americans vote for the 2022 Midterm Elections:

“This election day, Ocean Conservancy encourages every American citizen to head to the polls and vote. We know that a healthy democracy is also the foundation for a more just world that protects our ocean and ask that every vote be counted.

“As the polls close and the election results begin to come in later today, we encourage our elected representatives—new and returning—to prioritize ocean justice, ambitious climate action and pollution-free waterways.

“The challenges facing our ocean are critical but not insurmountable. With 50 years of fostering bipartisan solutions, Ocean Conservancy is confident that together, we can ensure a healthy ocean for the wildlife and communities that rely on it.”
