English Español Français Deutsch Italiano Português русский বঙ্গীয় 中文 日本語

Washington, D.C. –  The following statement was issued by Reggie Paros, Director of Government Relations at Ocean Conservancy, in response to the nomination of Rick Spinrad to be the new Administrator of the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration:

“The nomination of Rick Spinrad as NOAA Administrator shows this administration is committed to science-based, visionary leadership. As climate change continues to wreak havoc on our ocean and coastal communities, and as we work to create new jobs to make a more resilient nation, the need for focused, trustworthy leadership at NOAA has never been greater. Spinrad’s experience at the agency and as an internationally recognized scientist and executive leaves us confident he is the right person to lead NOAA as a critical part of President Biden’s climate and jobs agenda. We look forward to working with Dr. Spinrad to protect our ocean and the communities that rely on it.”
