English Español Français Deutsch Italiano Português русский বঙ্গীয় 中文 日本語

WASHINGTON, D.C. – The following statement was issued by Jeff Watters, Ocean Conservancy’s Vice President of External Affairs, following the results for the 2022 Midterm Elections:

Ocean Conservancy congratulates the newly elected and re-elected U.S. Senators and Representatives who will be part of the 118th Congress. We also applaud voters for making their voices heard. Every vote should be counted to ensure the integrity of this election and our democracy.

“Ocean Conservancy looks forward to working with the new Congress to develop ocean-based climate solutions, support climate-ready fisheries, keep plastics and debris out of our ocean and  prioritize ocean justice.

“The challenges facing our ocean are critical but not insurmountable. With 50 years of fostering bipartisan solutions, Ocean Conservancy is confident that together, we can ensure a healthy ocean for the wildlife and communities that rely on it.”
